Jets linebacker arrested for drunk driving

MIAMI-- New York Jets linebacker Marvin Jones was arrested early Saturday on charges of driving drunk, according to broadcast and print reports.

Jones, a former Florida State star who was raised in Miami, was charged with disorderly intoxication, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license and assaulting a police officer, The Miami Herald and WSVN-TV said, citing unidentified police sources.

Jones, 24, who was freed on bond, could be fined $20,000 by the NFL if he pleads guilty or is convicted, the Herald said.

Metro-Dade police wouldn't confirm the report to The Associated Press late Saturday. Jones' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, did not return a telephone message.

Jones, who had 107 tackles last season despite missing the first six games because of an ankle injury, is scheduled to report to training camp Friday.
